Established in 1899, St Mary's is one of Durham's oldest Colleges. Our warm and friendly mixed community, comprises around 750 undergraduate members and 150 full-time and 200 part-time postgraduates. We are situated in a great location, close to many of the University’s academic departments and central facilities. Our neoclassical buildings and extensive grounds provide a beautiful environment in which to live and study.
At Mary's we believe there is something for everyone.
Our sporting facilities give students the opportunity to get involved in a number of team sports.
We have three music practice rooms and other spaces in College. We also have a K. Kawai piano in Kenworthy Hall which is available for Grade 8 pianists to use.
There is a small bar and the Dining Hall and Kenworthy Hall are used for larger College social occasions such as formals, balls, drama productions and live lounges.
St Mary's Rugby Team.
Our talented artists support St Mary's events.
Our grounds are used for regular events, such as St Mary's Day.
